This year’s National Conference on Undergraduate Research (NCUR) will take place in Long Beach, CA from April 8-10, 2024.

NCUR uniquely showcases research done by undergraduates in all fields of study on a national stage. Attendees are able to present their research in a variety of formats, including oral presentations, poster presentations, performance, film, and visual arts displays. Additionally, this year there will be opportunities for students to attend up to three pre-conference professional development sessions to hone their presentation and networking skills.

Lafayette will provide funding to support the travel and lodgings for a small cohort of students and faculty mentors to attend the conference in-person. The student conference registration fees and some meal expenses will be the responsibility of the department or program associated with the student’s research. Students must first submit their abstract to the Lafayette Faculty Affairs and Resources Committee (FARC) for approval prior to submitting their abstracts to NCUR. Only those students who are approved through FARC will receive funding from the College to support their in-person attendance.

The internal application is now open! Both components, student abstract submission and faculty mentor endorsement, are due Wednesday, November 1, 2023. Interested applicants and/or their faculty mentors should review the slides from the fall information sessions for more information and reach out to Lafayette’s NCUR Coordinator, Millie Smith (smithmi@lafayette.edu), with any questions related to Lafayette’s participation. General conference questions may be addressed on the NCUR 2024 @ Long Beach website.
