Assistant Professor of Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in applied analysis or statistics. We seek candidates with the potential to make significant contributions to the department’s teaching and scholarship missions. Candidates for this position must have a Ph.D. in the mathematical sciences or be in the final stages of attaining one.

Lafayette College is a prestigious liberal arts college, with a faculty of committed teachers and scholars.  Lafayette is located in Easton, part of the Lehigh Valley region of Pennsylvania, with New York City, Philadelphia, and Princeton within 75 miles.

The normal teaching load for tenure-track faculty members is four courses for the first year, and five per year thereafter. Candidates must provide evidence of excellence in teaching and a strong, active research program. Successful candidates will demonstrate willingness and ability to contribute to the life of a vigorous mathematics program on a small, exclusively undergraduate campus.
