The English Department of Lafayette College invites applications for a full time tenure-track position in fiction writing and screenwriting at the rank of Assistant Professor. We are particularly interested in candidates who also could teach literature, rhetoric, and/or interdisciplinary courses. The appointment will begin July 1, 2019. The successful candidate will be able to teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced fiction and screenwriting courses; lower division courses in writing and literature; and courses that fulfill the requirements of the Common Course of Study. The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, 3/2 thereafter. Research support is generous. MFA or Ph.D. by start date and teaching experience required. The successful candidate will be an excellent teacher who has published creative work and who is committed to the mission of a liberal arts college.
