The Department of Religious Studies at Lafayette College invites applications for a one-year visiting assistant professor position for the academic year 2025-2026. We seek candidates who specialize in the study of Christianity, with a preference for expertise in scriptural texts or literary studies. Areas of specialization may focus on any historical period from antiquity to the present in any part of the world. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to undergraduate education and be ready to teach introductory courses in Christianity as well as a survey course in world religions. This is a full-time appointment with a 3/3 teaching load and includes the opportunity to teach in the candidate’s area of specialization. A PhD is required, but ABD candidates with a firm completion date by July 2025 will also be considered.
