The Department of Psychology at Lafayette College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning Fall 2026. We seek applicants who are active scholars of adult well-being (with a preference for someone studying interpersonal relationships). Applicants must have a Ph.D. in a relevant field, experience teaching undergraduates, and an active research program.

The candidate will be expected to regularly teach Introduction to Psychological Science, as well as Lifespan Development I & II (with lab), Family Psychology, or Cross-Cultural Psychology. There is also the opportunity to develop additional 200- or 300-level classes in their area of specialty. The teaching load is 2/2 in the first year, and 3/2 thereafter. All faculty members are expected to involve undergraduates in research and to mentor them in independent scholarship. The Department of Psychology (within the Division of Natural Sciences) expects all of its members to maintain active, productive, sustained programs of scholarship that result in publications. We offer competitive start-up funds and space for research in a well-equipped psychology and neuroscience building. More information about the department and facility is available at http://psychology.lafayette.edu or by request to the Search Committee Chair, Professor Jennifer M. Talarico (talaricj@lafayette.edu).

Applications should be submitted to https://apply.interfolio.com/172091. Submit a cover letter, curriculum vitae, a statement of teaching philosophy, and a statement of scholarly interests, and arrange for three confidential letters of recommendation to be sent through the Interfolio site. In the cover letter, candidates should address how their teaching and research will support Lafayette’s commitment to diversity and inclusion articulated in the College’s diversity statement (http://www.lafayette.edu/about/diversity-statement). Review of applications will begin October 1 and continue until the position is filled.
