The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Lafayette College invites applications for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level. The department is primarily seeking candidates with a passion for undergraduate teaching and mentoring and the ability to teach effectively at all levels of the curriculum. The department is interested in candidates with experience in interdisciplinary areas of robotics, embedded systems, autonomous systems, artificial intelligence, and internet of things to help support our new inter-disciplinary B.S. engineering program (inte.lafayette.edu) in addition to the ECE program. Candidates must demonstrate the potential to establish a research program that engages undergraduate students and results in the publication of scholarly work in peer-reviewed venues.
The Electrical and Computer Engineering Department has approximately 75 students across all classes and features small class sizes, hands-on laboratory experiences, and strong support for faculty research and professional development. Electrical and Computer Engineering faculty support the new interdisciplinary B.S. engineering program (inte.lafayette.edu), which was offered for the first time in the fall of 2019. The program’s courses have focus areas in robotics, bioengineering, as well as environment and energy that are taught with a systems approach.
